It is hard
Right now.
Snow and cold close me in
Stacked up against the house
As high as the windows
With more on the way
And more after that.
Buried under it all
I wonder
How it is possible
That the seeds of spring
Remain safe.
It is hard
Right now.
Long learned
Familiar patterns
Set aside
Because it was time
With nothing new to take their place
Patience
Impatience
As that
What next
Slowly unblurs
And comes into focus.
It is hard
Right now.
Masks
News
Pandemic
Lines drawn
Hard lines
Not easily washed away
Or set aside
Or forgotten
The fear is
We have lost our way.
It is hard
Right now.

February 7, 2021 at 3:48 pmPaul, Thanks for your latest thoughts and email—-much appreciated!!! Heavy snow was falling a short time ago and I did some of my own musing and (not) wasting time. It felt good. My only email is pjfaia@yahoo.com. I don’t know what the problem is? I made two loaves of oatmeal bread today They are cooling right now. Hoping all is well, Phil PS I will take you up on that phone call. Our new Minister is traffic and smart!!!!! She is not just good, she is perfect.
