Each day it is more of the same.
Each day I feel the knot in my stomach.
Each day I struggle with what in the world I can do.
Maybe it has come to this.
Each time I am kind to another, it is an act of resistance.
Each time I listen and take seriously the story and history of another, it is an act of resistance.
Each time I confess my ignorance and admit that I don’t know everything, it is an act of resistance.
Each time I acknowledge that others know more than I do, it is an act of resistance.
Each time I do my best to confront my own prejudices, it is an act of resistance.
Each time I say Thank you, it is an act of resistance.
Each time I say Please it is an act of resistance.
Each time I am generous, it is an act of resistance.
Each time I show respect, it is resistance.
Each time I apologize and say I’m sorry, it is an act of resistance.
Each time I accept responsibility for my actions, it is an act of resistance.
Each time.
Maybe someday all this will be normal again, but until then….
