Wow. This word comes at an awkward time.
Rejoice?
Today?
You have to be kidding.
At this moment I am trying to fend off a stress headache.
Not only am I trying to finish up the bulletins for Christmas Eve, but the bulletins for the two Sundays after Christmas, as well. And, I am supposed to be visiting an older couple who want to remain in their home, but are having an increasingly difficult time managing it. And, the line is out the door at the post office which moves at a snail’s pace on non-busy days. And, that doesn’t even include pausing for a moment to worry about or to pray about the headlines in the news.
And so, rejoice?
Today?
But the reality is ready or not Christmas comes.
Beyond or in spite of anything we do or don’t do.
So, rejoice.
