I don’t think of myself of myself as a procrastinator.
I am pretty good at making my list and getting things done.
And doing the things I do well.
Until…….
Until that is I get to that task or project which I have never done before and about which I am not sure where or how to plunge in. What I find is that with those things which are new and which I am not sure how to do and which, if I try them, I might not do them well, I put them off.
And, put them off.
And, put them off.
Until…….
Where did that hesitancy come from, I wonder.
When did it start.
I think when we are young we are hard-wired to try new things.
Climb that tree.
Go on that ride.
Learn to drive.
But somewhere along the way we become cautious.
Yes, as we get older we know there is good reason to be cautious and careful about some things. But, maybe a part of growing older is allowing our heart to become young again and to look at those things which we don’t know about or how to do as an adventure rather than something do our best to ignore or to push to the side.
Maybe I need to grow young again.
