Advent – God With Us

My office shelves are filled with books.
Many of them scholarly works explaining the nuances of the Bible.
Some of them theological tomes carefully detailing Christian doctrine and dogma.
All are important, I am sure.
But it seems to me the heart of the Christian witness comes down to these three words:
God with us.
Not God above us.
Not God beyond us.
Not God some cosmic puppeteer.
Not God some divine law giver.
Not God some heavenly judges.
But God with us.
Here.
Now.
Where I am.
How I am.
Where you are.
How you are.
God.
