On my Facebook feed last night I saw this picture.
I
I read it with a lump in my throat.
I couldn’t disagree more.
This is EXACTLY the right time to make room for refugees fleeing the fighting and the destruction and the terror of the Middle East whether they are Muslim or Christian or just parents trying to spare and save their children. By welcoming those who have no place else to go we reflect values and a courage that towers over the hatred and violence of the terrorists and put their actions to shame.
For every terrorist there are thousands of ordinary people who long for what you and I take for granted. Freedom. Opportunity. Safety. A chance to watch our children grow up. Why do you think they run toward us and not towards them. By opening our doors and offering those who would take it a chance, we tell the terrorists they have already lost.
P.S. Like so many others today, I vividly remember September 11, 2001 and the days that followed. My prayers as I remember that day and as I turn to live toward God’s tomorrow.

September 11, 2015 at 9:11 pmIf there are thousands of them that long for freedom for every one terrorist instead of longing they need to fight for it. I don’t take this country for granted and like many Americans I’m willing to die for it. Their change has to come from within. I just don’t see the effort on their part for us to take on the liability of these refugees.
